House for Sale in Southport
I LOVE A GOOD SUPRISE, AND THIS HOME DELIVERS
- 3 Beds
- 2 Baths
- 1 Car
Southport has quietly become one of the most well-connected addresses on the Gold Coast, and Kensington on the Park sits right in the middle of it. When I walked into number 14 for the first time, I actually stopped in the doorway. The oak hybrid floors, the quality of the renovation, the way the whole space flows. This is not what you're expecting, and that's exactly the point.
Kensington on the Park is a well-run complex with on-site management and a community that largely owns, not rents. Number 14 sits at the back of it, away from the street, next to the park. Quiet. Private. And inside, completely transformed.
INSIDE
As soon as you step in, the living space opens up and those oak hybrid floors set the tone immediately. To the right, the first bedroom sits just off the entry. I love this position for guests. Both parties get real separation from the rest of the apartment. Plantation shutters on the windows, built-in robe. You'll see both of those again.
Moving through to the kitchen and dining area is where this apartment really shows what it is. The kitchen anchors everything. Two-tone timber and two-pac cabinetry, stone benchtops with a waterfall edge, an integrated dishwasher, and a breakfast bar that works just as well for a casual morning coffee as it does for entertaining. What I kept coming back to is the sightline: you're standing at the kitchen and looking directly out through the double glass doors to the patio and the greenery beyond. The dining area comfortably seats six. There's even a concealed cabinet built into the front of the bench for the extra items that never quite find a home. Someone thought carefully about how this kitchen would actually get lived in.
The split system in the dining and living area keeps the whole space comfortable.
Down the hallway, the laundry sits to the left with good bench space and room for a washer below. Then a well-appointed family bathroom with a vanity and bathtub, followed by a separate toilet next door. Keeping those two apart makes a real difference on a busy school morning. The second bedroom sits across the hall, plantation shutters, built-in robe.
At the end of the hallway is the master. Direct access to the patio, a split system, a full-length built-in wardrobe running wall to wall, and an ensuite with a large corner shower. Every wet room in this apartment, including this one, is finished in a light terrazzo tile that pulls the whole renovation together. It keeps everything feeling bright and intentional throughout.
OUTSIDE
The patio runs the full length of the apartment. For a ground floor home this is genuinely valuable. Kids can be outside while you still have eyes on everything from the living area or straight from the master bedroom. It's a proper outdoor space, not a token one.
From the front door, the pool is a ten second walk. It gets good sun. And directly behind the complex along Loders Creek, Lawlor Park and its playground sit right there for when you need to burn off some energy. For a complex of this size, the calm here is real, and having that green space on your doorstep is a big part of why.
Beyond the pool, Kensington on the Park has a heated spa, sauna, and two BBQ and entertaining areas. For families, most of your weekend needs are sorted before you've even left the complex.
PARKING
Underground, secure, and the spot for this apartment sits directly beneath it. From the time you close the car door you're at the front door in under thirty seconds.
THE LOCATION
What I find genuinely impressive about this address is how much sits within walking distance. Southport State High School is a ten minute walk. Gold Coast Aquatics is fifteen minutes on foot. The Broadwater Parklands are 800 metres away. Australia Fair is five minutes in the car. The light rail, the CBD, the M1, Harbour Town, St Hilda's, TSS. For investors, the complex has delivered strong rental yields and historically low vacancy rates.
